The benefits of a drivers manual/handbook are outlined on many occasions in the HSE document 'Driving at Work'. A Driver handbook serves two functions - (i) It protects you and your company (ii) It gives your staff a reference guide when confronted with unusual situations. If you have a handbook there will never be ambiguity or company liability if an employee breeches regulations.
